Morocco and The High Atlas by Alan Ingram Sometimes you can meet snow even in Africa, for instance, in the Atlas mountains, in its high part. Especially amazing to see a slender line of palms on the background of snow-covered mountains. The gallery contains more than 100 pictures. Many of them are landscapes - views of the Atlas mountains, valleys with lakes, sub Sahara region and coastline of Atlantic ocean. There are also photographs of sights of some Morrocan cities - Marrakesh, Fes and, of course, Rabat. |

| ATLAS MOUNTAINS |
| The Atlas mountains occupies the central part of Morocco. There are 8 high peaks here. The highest of them - Jebel Tubkal (4 165 m) located in the south from Marrakesh. The climate of the mountains is inclement - non-typical for Africa cold winters with blizzards and snowstorms. Local farmers live thanking good pastures and forest. Rain clouds from Atlantic and Mediterranean bring much moisture to Atlas mountains. |
