    MACHU PICCHU
In summer 1911, in the Andes (territory of Peru) an ancient Incas town was revealed. Its name - Machu Picchu (Old Peak) came from the name of a nearest mountain. Machu Picchu located in a saddle, nearby Urubamba river and surrounded by jungles. The inhabitants left the town in the beginning of 16th century, when the Spaniards invaded into Incas Empire. The town amazes visitors with its buildings which remain almost intact despite of numerous earthquakes. There are not any fortresses here, most of buildings have religious purposes. The researches come to the conclusion that Machu Picchu was a center of worship to the Sun.
