The Tokyo pictures section contains some interesting articles about modern life of the Japanese capital. Of course the articles are accompanied with pictures. Here you can see some views of the Imperial Palace, Kitanomaru Park, Yasukuni Shrine and some others. The Japan section contains a plenty of landscape pictures.     FUJI SAN
    The highest mountain of Japan - Fuji San, its height - 3 776 m above sea level. The mountain is a volcanic cone which has 50 km in the foot. Fuji San erupted 30 times at least. The first eruption was recorded in 781, the last one - in 1708. At present time the volcano "dozes" but at a depth of some kilometers under the mountain modest tremors have recorded sometimes what doesn't allow to count Fuji San as an extinct volcano.
