Johnston island memories This web-site dedicated to people who served in Johnston Atoll (in 2001 the US military base was closed, the atoll began to clean from radioactive and chemical waste to be a wildlife refuge). IODA - Indian Ocean Diving Academy Here visitors can see the underwater world surrounding the Christmas island (the edge of the Java Trench) - pictures of whalesharks, dolphins, green turtle, corals (there is a photo of Table coral), anemones and colorful tropical fish. The water is very clear (visibility to 50 meters!). |
